Minister for Foreign Affairs
Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir took office as Minister for Foreign Affairs on 9 April 2024. She was Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs from 14 October 2023 to 9 April 2024, Minister for Foreign Affairs from 28 November 2021 to 14 October 2023 and Minister of Tourism, Industry and Innovation from 11 January 2017 to 28 November 2021. She was also Minister of Justice from March to September 2019. She is the Vice Chairman of the Independence Party and has been a member of Alhingi for the North-West Constituency since 2016. Thórdís Kolbrún is a lawyer, she was the Office Director of the Parliamentary group of the Independence Party between 2013 and 2014 and was the Political Advisor to the Minister of the Interior between 2014 and 2016.

Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir was born in Akranes 4 November 1987. Parents: Gylfi R. Guðmundsson (born 16 March 1956) service manager, son of Jóna Valgerður Kristjánsdóttir Member of Althingi, nephew of Guðjón Arnar Kristjánsson Member of Althingi, and Fjóla Katrín Ásgeirsdóttir (born 28 May 1956) paramedic. Spouse: Hjalti Sigvaldason Mogensen (born 28 May 1984) attorney. Parents: Sigvaldi Þorsteinsson and Kristín I. Mogensen. Children: Marvin Gylfi (2012), Kristín Fjóla (2016).
