Sweden introduces priorities for Chairmanship in 2021.
Iceland welcomed the priorities of the OSCE Chairmanship of Sweden in 2021, introduced by Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Rydberg at the Permanent Council on 16th July 2020. Ambassador Guðni Bragason, Permanent Representative of Iceland mentioned especially the emphasis on the tasks within the three dimensions in accordance with the comprehensive security concept of the OSCE. He also mentioned the emphasis on the three independent institutions, Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Freedom of the Media Office of the Representative on Freedom of the Media (FoM) og High Commissioner on National Minorities (HCNM) and the missions.
Ambassador Bragason welcomed the emphasis on Confidence- and Security-Building-Measures (CSBMs), the Structured Dialogue, the modernisation of the Vienna Document and focus on transnational threats and cyber security.
