Embassy Welcomes New Deputy Chief of Mission

Mr Sigþór Hilmisson has begun his tour of duty as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Iceland. The new DCM is a long-term officer of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and has served since March 1995 as head of IT Department.
He has also participated in other Foreign Service projects, such as the IT Coordinator for the NATO Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Reykjavík in May 2002, Chief IT & Security Officer at the Icelandic Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, and reorganization of the Foreign Ministry's Translation Center 2011-2012.
