Sinopec´s Geothermal Exhibition at the China Science and Technology Museum

William Freyr Huntingdon-Williams, Chargé d'Affaires a.i, at the Embassy of Iceland, Beijing, attended as a guest of honour the Opening Ceremony of Sinopec´s Geothermal Exhibition at the China Science and Technology Museum, last Monday.

The Exhibition is in order to promote public understanding and recognition of geothermal energy and present the progress in China´s geothermal development. Sinopec is sponsoring the exhibition with the support of China Association for Science and Technology and geothermal associations in China.

The Exhibition is in connection with the World Geothermal Congress, set to take place in Beijing in 2023.

Iceland and China have had a longstanding and successful cooperation in the field of geothermal energy. Iceland´s Arctic Green Energy and China´s Sinopec established Sinopec Green Energy in 2006, a Sino-Icelandic Joint Venture that combines in-depth knowledge of the geothermal resource in China and Iceland's long experience of constructing and operating geothermal district heating systems.
