Ambassador Addresses at the Yantai-Europe Conference on Green and Low-Carbon Industry Cooperation

At the invitation of Yantai Municipal Government, Ambassador Thorir Ibsen visited Yantai and attended the Yantai-Europe Conference on Green and Low Carbon Industry Cooperation.  
In his speech at the conference, Ambassador Thorir Ibsen introduced Icelandic achievements in food processing for optimum output, hydro and geothermal power development, geothermal district heating and the latest carbon capture and recycling.  He noted Yantai’s progress in the green and low carbon sector, and expressed his belief in successful cooperation between Iceland and Yantai in those fields, especially in carbon capture and reuse.   
Mr. Ma Xin, representative of the Icelandic Carbon Recycling International in China, also made a presentation at the conference on their Nobel-prized technology of making green methanol out of carbon captured in various industrial process and its recent application in China.
During his visit in Yantai, Ambassador Thorir Ibsen also met Mr. Zheng Deyan, Mayor of Yantai.  Both agreed that both sides will actively promote exchanges and cooperation and achieve complementary advantages and win-win development in more fields.
