Laufey Performed at the Poly Theatre in Beijing

Laufey, the Icelandic-Chinese Jazz singer-songwriter performed at the Poly Theatre in Beijing yesterday evening with the China Philharmonic Orchestra.  Her debut album Bewitched  has broken the all-time record for biggest debut for a jazz album on Spotify in history.  Laufey had a multicultural upbringing, growing up between Reykjavik, Iceland and Washington DC with regular visits to Beijing. She received strict classical music training in her childhood, but with her love for jazz, her unique voice and the cello in her hands she has created a unique music style. The concert was part of her grand international tour which started 8th of September. She also performed in Hong Kong and will perform in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Boston, as well as Vancouver with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Laufey received the 2023 Award of Young Musician at the Beijing Music Festival.
