Yantai Island Countries Green and Low Carbon Development Exchange Conference
Ms. Inga Petursdottir, Deputy Head of Mission (DHoM) of the Embassy of Iceland, participated in the Yantai Island Countries Green and Low Carbon Development Exchange Conference. During her participation, she highlighted Iceland's ongoing journey towards achieving carbon neutrality, a goal that is deeply embedded in the nation’s energy policies and practices. She shared insights on how Iceland has successfully attained energy independence and security through innovative practices and sustainable resource management, particularly in geothermal energy.
As part of her visit, Ms. Petursdottir took the opportunity to explore Changdao Island. She witnessed firsthand the island's dedicated efforts towards its ambitious 2030 goal of becoming the first island in the world to achieve zero carbon emissions.
