The Embassy provides consular services to Icelandic citizens in its jurisdiction and safeguards Icelandic interests, focusing on bilateral co-operation, trade and culture.
In addition to Japan, the Embassy is also accredited to the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea and Timor Leste, as well as being Iceland's representation to the Assocation of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Embassy was established in 2001.
