Foreign Ministers of Iceland and Sweden meet in Stockholm

Ossur Skarphedinsson, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland, will meet with Carl Bildt, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, in Stockholm tomorrow. Minister Skarphedinsson will follow up on Iceland’s application for accession to the European Union by formally handing over Iceland’s application during a ceremony at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Ministers are expected to discuss the application process and the next steps ahead. An advanced copy of the application has already been submitted to Sweden, which currently holds the EU Presidency, on 17 July.
