Minister condemns violence against protesters in Syria
Össur Skarphéðinsson, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland, condemns the violence that Syrian authorities have used against protesters in Syria in the last days and weeks. The minister says no governement has the right to use force in the way that has been done in Syria recently. Protesters have been shot at, their homes invaded and a number of Syrian citizens have disappeared following such raids. The Foreign Minister reiterates his support of those who demand free and democratic elections where the people are able to choose their own leaders and the policy that should guide them towards the future.
