The Fund's purpose is to enhance research and development projects in the field of immigration issues with the goal of facilitating mutual integration of immigrants and Icelandic society.
In selecting projects to be supported by the Development Fund for Immigrant Issues in 2024, the focus will be on projects which promote democratic participation, combat prejudice and promote use of Icelandic in social activities.

- Support language learning by using the language in social activities. Special emphasis is on projects for youth 16+ or adults.
- Equal participation of immigrants and host communities in joint projects such as promoting democratic participation in NGOs and in politics.
Immigrant associations and interest groups are especially encouraged to apply.
