Prime Minister of Iceland nominated as WHO Champion
Prime Minister of Iceland, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, has been appointed WHO Champion for the Well-being Economy Initiative for the next two years. The initiative aims to shift attention to actions that improve the well-being of our societies and ensure a healthy, fairer and prosperous future for the coming generations.
The role of the WHO Champions is to raise awareness among European and global governments and intergovernmental bodies of the imperatives and benefits of shifting towards well-being economies.
Prime Minister Jakobsdóttir and WHO Regional Director for Europe, Hans Kluge, discussed the aims of the initiative and the Champions at the first Wellbeing Economy Forum that took place in Reykjavík earlier this week.
