Absentee voting for Parliamentary elections begins
Absentee voting for the 25 April Parliamentary elections in Iceland will begin on Monday, 16 March 2009. Voting will take place in all Embassies of Iceland, the Permanent Delegation to the Council of Europe and the Icelandic Consulates in New York, Winnipeg and Thorshavn. Registered voters abroad may also cast their ballots with Honorary Consuls.
Voters are requested to contact their Honorary Consuls before coming to vote. They should furthermore acquaint themselves with the candidates and be informed as to which letters have been allocated to different political parties. This and other practical information regarding the upcoming Parliamentary elections can be found in Icelandic and English on the following website: http://www.kosning.is/english/
Please note that absentee voters are responsible for posting their ballots.
