The modernization of the Vienna Document discussed in the Structured Dialogue, Vienna, 6 May 2019.
Iceland called for the modernization of the Vienna Document at the first meeting of the Informal Working Group of the Structured Dialogue in 2019, held on 6th May. The Vienna Document is one of the most important confidence and security building instrument in the European security structure. At the meeting the Permanent Representative of Iceland, Guðni Bragason, said Iceland was committed to increasing transparency, reducing risks and preventing military incidents, especially with regard to the important sea lines of communication in the North Atlantic.
