Ambassador Gudni Bragason's visit to Chennai - 25 to 27 November 2021
The Embassy of Iceland in New Delhi held a working luncheon for businesses in Chennai on 25th November 2021 in cooperation with the Consul General of Iceland in Chennai, Mr Kumar Sitaraman. The Embassy introduced the six fields of emphasis for Icelandic exports, as well as green energy, innovation, cultural cooperation and technology on carbon capture. During the visit of Ambassador Guðni Bragason and the Embassy´s Trade and Culture Representatives, Rahul Chongtham and Deepika Sachdev, meetings took place with Dr. K. S. Palanisamy, Commissioner of Fisheries, Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation (TNFDC), and Dr G. A. Ramadass, Director of the National Institute for Ocean Technology (NIOT) and their teams. Discussions included a possible cooperation with the UNESCO Fisheries Training Programme in Iceland the Oceans Cluster, as well as a follow up of the MOU on cooperation in Fisheries and Aquaculture.
