Conference on EU´s Support for Regional Policy

On 15 April, the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Association of Local Authorities in Iceland, and the EU Commission co-hosted a conference on the European Union's regional policy and employment issues. In his opening statement, Ossur Skarphedisson, Minister for Foreign Affairs, reeiterated his governments commitment to the application process and describe EU accession as a crucial part of Iceland´s strategy for recovery and long-term economic stability. Numerous experts from the EU Commission and individual member states gave presentations on their area of expertise and their countries' experience from cooperating with different EU funds.
