Iceland Supports a Gender Expert Position at UNESCO í Delhi.

The Embassy in New Delhi facilitated an agreement between the UNESCO New Delhi Regional Office and GRÓ International Centre for Capacity Development at the Foreign Ministry in Reykjavík on supporting a position of a gender expert. The Expert will be engaged at the UNESCO for one year and will be part of the organisations´ programme on advancing gender equality and providing avenues for youth to actively participate in this crucial agenda.

To celebrate the agreement an open meeting was held at the UNESCO House Auditorium with the participation i. a. of Mr Tim Curtis Director of the UNESCO New Delhi Regional Office and Mr Martin Eyjólfsson Permanent Secretary of State of Iceland.
