At its autumn virtual meeting with the Icelandic Business Forum (IBF) in China, the Embassy of Iceland presented its business promotion plan for the coming months and upcoming cultural events. The IBF is central to the Icelandic business community here in China and works, together with the Embassy of Iceland to promote Icelandic business and trade and to foster cooperation among Icelandic companies and businesses. The defining characteristic of the Icelandic business community in China is its diverse portfolio, especially within such sectors as foodstuffs, food processing technology, geothermal utilization, carbon recycling, tourism, cosmetics, medical equipment and health products,, and transportation, and its wide geographical distribution, with several major Chinese centres represented. The IBF member companies joined the meeting from their headquarters in Beijing, Qingdao, Shanghai, Zhongshan and Kunming. Members of the IBF include Arctic Green Energy China, BEAL (Icelandair China GAS), BRIM China, Carbon Recycling International (CRI-MFE), Eimskip Logistics, Green Diamond, Hotel of Iceland, Huashangyuan Co., Ltd., local distributor for lceland Spring, Icelandic Export Center Ltd., IS Seafood, Marel China, Royal Bioland Co., Ltd., local distributor for BioEffect, Yunnan Shanhaigen International Trading, JV company of Strandgatan 7 ehf, and ÖSSUR Asia.
