Foreign Minister of Denmark visits Iceland
Iceland‘s Foreign Minister, Össur Skarphéðinsson, met today with Villy Søvndal, Foreign Minister of Denmark, who is on an official visit to Iceland.
During their meeting the Foreign Ministers discussed co-operation between Iceland and Denmark and the Nordic countries, as well as issues of the High North. They discussed Iceland‘s membership negotiations with the EU and the situation in the euro zone and Minister Skarphéðinsson briefed his colleague on developments in the Icesave and mackerel issues.
Following the meeting of the Foreign Ministers, Minister Søvndal met with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Icelandic Parliament and with the Minister for Education, Science and Culture, Katrín Jakobsdóttir.
