Foreign Minister of Cyprus meets with Minister Skarphéðinsson
The Foreign Minister of Cyprus, Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis, is on an official visit to Iceland today. Cyprus currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Earlier today, Kozakou-Marcoullis met with Iceland‘s Foreign Minister, where the main topic was Iceland‘s accession negotiations with the EU. The Ministers took stock of the task ahead and Minister Kozakou-Marcoullis expressed her support to Iceland‘s application. They also discussed the mackerel-issue and Foreign Minister Skarphéðinsson briefed his colleague on developments in the Icesave issue, which is before the EFTA court.
Later today, Cyprus‘ Foreign Minister will meet with Iceland‘s Prime Minister Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, and Minister of Industries and Innovation, Steingrím J. Sigfússon, and visit the Hellisheiði geothermal plant.
