COVID-19 information - Travel Restrictions

Covid-19 in Iceland - Information in English - mynd

Iceland’s Minister of Justice has decided that the temporary travel restrictions that came into effect on 15 June will continue to apply as of 1 July 2020.

Foreign nationals (including US citizens), other than EU/EEA, EFTA or UK nationals, are generally not allowed entry to Iceland unless they can demonstrate that their travel is essential. Foreign nationals with a valid residence permit in Iceland or any other EU/EEA or EFTA state and family members of Icelandic or EU/EFTA nationals are exempted. Further information on exemptions from travel restrictions to Iceland.

All travelers coming to Iceland from Covid-19 risk areas must undergo 14 day quarantine. From 15 June an exemption can be granted for quarantine after a stay in COVID-19 risk areas by undergoing a test for COVID-19 on arrival to Iceland. Passengers are required to fill out a pre-registration form before arrival, which includes their contact information, address(es) during their stay in Iceland and a declaration of health. Children born 2005 or later are exempt from pre-registration, testing and quarantine. Further information and registration on Covid.is.
