Minister Skarphéðinsson receives Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Titov
Össur Skarphéðinsson, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland, met today with Vladimir Titov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The Ministers discussed cooperation between Iceland and Russia on arctic issues and how this could be expanded, with geothermal research and projects, particularly concerning domestic heating in Eastern Russia. The Minsters also discussed Syria and Palestine.
Following their talk, Minister Titov had a meeting with Einar Gunnarsson, Permanent Secretary of State and other officials, discussing the long-standing bilateral trade between the Iceland and Russia, cultural cooperation and Russian Presidency of the Baltic Council.
