Alarm at the situation in Ukraine
Iceland joins other participating States of the OSCE, including member states of the European Union, in expressing alarm at the situation in Ukraine, condemning the violence and calling for de-escalation and a genuine dialogue.
The participating States believe that the OSCE has an important and valuable role to play in assisting Ukraine to overcome its political crisis, including by facilitating dialogue between government and opposition. They welcome the proposals put forward by the Swiss Chairman-in-Office and encourage him to continue the close coordination with all actors, including the Council of Europe and the United Nations.
