Meeting of Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Minister for External Affairs of India.
The Foreign Minister of Iceland, Mr Bjarni Benediktsson, and Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs of India, met in New Delhi on 10th May 2024. The Ministers discussed i. a. the newly signed Free Trade Agreement between the EFTA Countries, including Iceland, and India, recent developments in global security and economic development and the cooperation between the countries on rrenewable energy and sustainability. The Ministers discussed especially possibilites in increasing cooperation in fisheries, such as fisheries management, 100% utilisation of the catch and innovation in the sector.
Attending the meeting were also Mr Pavan Kapoor Secretary (West) in the MEA, and Mr Guðni Bragason Ambassador of Iceland.
