2023 China Fisheries & Seafood Expo in Qingdao

Ambassador Thorir Ibsen gave a speech at the opening of the 2023 China Fisheries & Seafood Expo in Qingdao. In his speech he spoke about the experience and practices of Iceland of sustainable fisheries and fish processing and valuable lessons learned. This year the Expo hosted three exhibition stands showcasing Icelandic products, including fish processing lines and IT solutions from Marel and seafood from Brim and Triton.

While in Qingdao, Ambassador Ibsen also visited the office of the Icelandic shipping company Eimskip which provides freight forwarding services on the east coast of China, the office of Icelandic Export Center which imports cold water shrimps for the seafood market in China, and a waste water heat pump station of Arctic Green Energy used for house heating and cooling.
