Lecture on the Occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Iceland.

In connection with the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Iceland, Dr. Valur Ingimundarson, Professor of History at the University of Iceland, gave a lecture on 3 July on the events leading up to the founding of the Republic and various aspects of the history of the Republic. The lecture took place in the auditorium of the Indian Merchants' Chamber of Commerce, the oldest chamber of commerce in the country at the invitation of its president, Sanjaya Mariwala. The city of Mumbai is the major commercial centre of India.
