Geothermal Energy for Community Use - Ambassador Gudni Bragason visited the Headquarters of the National Cooperative Union Of India

The Embassy of Iceland and the GEG Power in Iceland held an introduction of the possibilities of the utilization of geothermal energy for cooperatives in agriculture, fisheries and communities at the headquarters of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) in New Delhi on 20. February. Dr. Vijay Chauhan of the GEG Power and  introduced a new project of the GEG Power in Himachal Pradesh, for using this renewable energy for cooling of fruit, and thus strengthening the food security of the people in the production. NCUI has members in most Indian States and a membership of millions of people. At the introduction Ambassador Guðni Bragason stressed the importance of renewable energy for communities and food production.
