Grants for Innovators
Grants for innovators are for young entrepreneurs and young innovative companies to start a development cooperation project. The maximum grant can be up to two million ISK and should be completed within 12 months. The grant emphasizes on creating jobs for women and should projects have a positive environmental impact. Projects should focus on searching for new solutions or technologies to improve living condition for people in developing countries.
Partner countries are developing countries and small island states that are considered eligible partner countries based on the definition of the Development Cooperation Committee of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD, DAC) and by the Icelandic government. Grantees are able to apply for a grant from the Sustainable Development Goal Partnership Fund (SDG fund) for development cooperation as a follow-up to innovation grant. Applications are open throughout the year and allocations are normally made two to three times during the year. Applications for the grant for innovators are made to the Technology Development Fund and applications should be submitted through Rannís' application system.
